Our Philosophy
For us, respecting the earth is not a choice, but a way of life. Our love for our work gives rise to authentic, wholesome and genuine produce, based on farming practices with a low environmental impact.
In a world that is constantly racing forwards, we have made a conscious decision to take a step back and rediscover the value of tradition.
For decades, we have been practising organic and biodynamic methods, enriched by knowledge passed down through the generations.
That is how our vision came about: a form of agriculture that regards every element as part of a single, great balance: the Agricultural Organism.
Nothing exists in isolation: plants, soil, animals, insects, microorganisms and humans coexist and work together. It is this harmony that makes life possible.
For us, farming means safeguarding an ecosystem, in which each part contributes to the well-being of the whole, in a profound and natural balance.
A Living Agricultural System
We haven’t invented anything new. We have simply chosen to listen to what the earth has always whispered to those who know how to slow down: that agriculture, in its most ancient and authentic form, is harmony between its parts, an intertwining of lives, a balance that renews itself.
For thousands of years, farming has meant recognising that nothing exists in isolation. Every element is a part of a larger organism: the soil that breathes, the plants that communicate with one another, the animals that play their silent part, and the landscape that nurtures and gives back.
Our company has gone through a profound change.
From a linear and orderly vine monoculture, we have moved on to a living, complex permaculture, where diversity is not disorder but a language, and every living thing has its own role to play in the greater scheme of nature.
Today We nurture relationships even before we cultivate crops. Each element interacts with the others and with the surrounding area, creating a dynamic balance that is both fragile and powerful.
And so the earth returns to what it has always been: a living organism that grows, breathes and tells its story through those who inhabit it.
The Agricultural System and its Components
Alongside the vineyards lie olive groves, arable and forage land, orchards and woodland. Insects, microorganisms and wildlife all contribute to this natural balance, key elements for the health and vitality of the entire ecosystem.
The farm’s livestock rearing is an integral part of this cycle. The animals feed on the produce grown on the farm and, in turn, return fertility to the soil through their manure.
This is then composted and macerated together with agricultural by-products, such as grape stalks and pomace, creating rich, natural compost.
This compost is used to fertilise the soil, thereby closing the production cycle.
It is a circular agricultural system, designed to minimise external inputs and make the most of what the company itself is able to produce, whilst maintaining a constant balance between production, regeneration and respect for the local area.
Man and the Agricultural System
As a family-run business, we firmly believe in the value of human relationships, built on trust, listening and continuity. The people who live and work within our organisation are not merely staff members, but an integral part of the company’s balance.
Within the agricultural organisation, the man takes on the role of guardian. It observes the natural cycle of the seasons, respects their rhythms and intervenes only when necessary, making considered and informed choices.
Our vision is based on a simple principle: Nature already knows what it needs.
It regenerates, adapts and constantly finds its own balance. Our role is not to force her, but to support her with discretion and respect, avoiding unnecessary work.
In this ongoing dialogue between humankind and nature, farming becomes an act of care, balance and responsibility towards the land and its inhabitants.
Tradition and Innovation
Our farming system is based on age-old practices such as permaculture, integrated livestock farming and composting: ancient knowledge that has always guided a balanced form of agriculture that respects natural cycles.
We combine this traditional expertise with the best available technologies, with the aim of making our work increasingly sustainable and precise.
We use weather stations located throughout the farm to continuously monitor key data such as air and soil temperature, leaf wetness and soil moisture. This information, combined with our staff’s direct observations of the crops, enables us to take action only when necessary and only where it is needed.
